Based in Yellowknife and BIP registered since 2004, we service the entire north and beyond – from coast to coast to coast. LCP Health routinely provides services from the Baffin region to the Cold Lake air force base, Alberta. We have steadily grown year upon year, while maintaining a consistent quality of service. In 2010, LCP Health purchased a 2800 sq. ft building and redesigned the entire clinic to suit our needs, creating a modernized, professional atmosphere with private clinic treatment rooms.
Locally, our team consists of Physiotherapists, an Occupational Therapist, Registered Massage Therapists, a Speech Pathologist and a Kinesiologist based in Yellowknife. As a result of the demand for Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs) and Functional and Medical Assessments (FAME) by both industry and insurance companies, LCP Health contract several specialists. On a monthly basis from Sept to June we routinely hold a clinic for each of the following specialists – Psychiatrist, Occupational Medicine Physician and PhD Psychologist, to perform medical assessments at the LCP Health clinic. By combining visits with other fee payers, travel costs are divided, overall claim costs reduced and the wait time for specialized services are minimized.
LCP Health follows 3 philosophical values in all our work:
Professional development and training: - As our field of practice is constantly evolving, LCP Health greatly value post-graduation specialization and provide all staff with professional development. We believe it is this emphasis of education and training that differentiates LCP Health from “run of the mill” physiotherapy practices.
Best practices: - Delivering quality health care. We value providing northerners with timely service in a professional environment and believe this is what they deserve. Both Wendy and Marion were elected by peers and volunteered to sit on national board’s which represent their professions and maintain competitive skills and knowledge. Additionally, LCP Health staff are heavily involved as clinical fieldwork educators for the University of Alberta.
Timely return to work: - Our goal at LCP Health is that individuals return to work as quickly as possible, in same job with same employer. This allows insurance companies to mitigate claim costs. It is a bold goal and yet our records verify our prior success and commitment.
