Psychology

LCP Health offers a wide range of psychological and rehabilitation services tailored to the unique needs of both the worker and the referring agency. Our goal is to provide cost effective, client centered and outcome oriented solutions for individuals who require psychological assistance. We provide assessment and treatment for a wide range of psychological conditions.

Our rehabilitation programs and intervention strategies include:

Pain Management: LCP pain management program is provided by a multi-disciplinary team offering occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology, kinesiology, acupuncture, medical assessments and consultations. It utilizes a holistic approach to assist with mood, decreasing reliance on medications and whenever possible, returning to employment.

Life Skills: Workshops are tailored to clients' needs and provide knowledge of abilities for adaptive and positive behaviour that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life and activities of daily living. Life skills represent the psycho-social skills that determine valued behaviour and include reflective skills such as problem-solving and critical thinking, to personal skills such as self-awareness, and to interpersonal skills.

Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP): Disability prevention program specifically designed to target psychosocial risk factors associated with illness and/or injury.

The PGAP is a standardized 10-week, life-role reintegration and activity mobilization program focused on return to work initiatives. It has produced positive results for individuals suffering from chronic musculoskeletal conditions (whiplash, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis), mental health conditions (depression, post traumatic stress disorder), and chronic illness (cancer, renal failure, diabetes). The PGAP was designed to complement existing clinical services for the treatment of debilitating health and mental health conditions.
