Standardized Objective Services
LCP Health co-ordinates and works in collaboration with you the worker, your physician, and if applicable, your case manager, union rep and employer to design an individualized program and where ever possible programs are provided at the job-site. Care is given to consider the unique characteristics of each worker and their work environment to ensure a lasting solution to get you quickly and safely back to work.
Essential Job Function Analysis (also known as physical demands analysis)
Objective measurements of the physical, environmental and cognitive demands of specific and essential job tasks of the target position. Analysis of the demands of the job position results in recommendations for injury prevention and can be used to assist in finding suitable accommodation for an injured worker.
Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)
The FCE is the cornerstone of a worker's rehabilitation plan. An FCE provides the assessment of the worker's physical capability to perform the specific job demands of the pre-injury or target occupation. The comparisons are made for strength, mobility, agility, and dexterity and measurements are provided in weight, frequency, and force.
Cognitive Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)
A Cognitive FCE is a specific evaluation that assesses the functional impairment of a worker's memory, attention, planning, problem solving, learning, impulsivity and tolerance for multiple demands. The evaluation may include a standardized assessment of cognition functioning in addition to observations of functional every day tasks. The evaluation will outline the impact of changes in cognitive function and recommend customized strategies.
LCP Health is the only company certified to conduct Functional Capacity Evaluations in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
Functional Restoration Program/Work Conditioning
Functional restoration programs provide a transition between acute care and return to work while addressing the issue of productivity, safety, physical tolerances and work behaviours. Programs use conditioning tasks that are graded to progressively improve the function of the individual in conjunction with real or simulated work activities. Programs are typically daily for 4 weeks duration at $45/hour.
Duty to Accommodate/Return to Work
Facilitation of RTW and duty to accommodate can be multi-faceted and complex; therefore can benefit from a third party to provide objective measureable modifications at the worksite. Modifications may include work tasks and/or hours to facilitate gradual return to the target job as well as advice regarding medical and psychiatric symptom control and body mechanics.
Work Simulation Standard Testing
Work Simulation Standard testing provides a key component in the safety of both employees and public. Testing establishes the worker's base-line physical abilities to do the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Additionally beneficial to both the worker and employer, testing provides an opportunity to instruct in proper body mechanics, postures and injury prevention strategies.
Individual ergonomic assessments tailored to the worker. The ergonomist works directly with the worker to provide an in-depth, expert consideration of the worker, in terms of their work demands, workstation, as well as individualized anthropometric considerations. Adjustments to the work environment and routine to decrease risks of injury and increase productivity are made.
